Inspiring stories

Great experience with a run in a beautiful area, with the big chance to visit such a place out of the tourist time and with a good guide later on. The extension was also great with a nice sleep in the desert. Hotels were at good level and the locations great, at the exception of the last night before departure. The marathon was very well organized with many water stations.
The Petra Marathon itself was an incredible and very special experience - nothing beats seeing the Treasury at first light, with only other marathon runners there. My friend who was spectating also really enjoyed the experience of having the Treasury almost to himself once the runners had started!
Petra was out of this world; it was amazing walking towards it on the morning of the race & incredible having it to ourselves. The dead sea was a highlight. Hotels were really good, the food was excellent.

This was my first half marathon, it was harder than I was prepared for, but overall it was 100% worth the effort. The site and the surrounding hills are very impressive, it is hard not to stop at take photos all the way. Great organisation, transportation and accomodation.
The whole experience was amazing. The days at the Dead Sea were beautiful and relaxing. Petra was wonderful. I loved the run it was fabulous and I kept making myself stop to look around at this amazing place. The celebration dinner was great, what a place!
What to say ?? Not only a marathon, this was a wonderful experience with beautiful people and so incredible landscape.
A return to marathons for me and so glad I got to do this one. Petra is an amazing venue and it did not disappoint. Running this race we got views not many would experience do makes it extra special. The tours and inclusions were mostly worthwhile.
I picked this race because it checked all the boxes: a running challenge in an amazing location with all the extras (adventure excursions, Petra tours, Dead Sea), it delivered that and more, especially the first point 😆.

Brilliant organisation from start to finish by Albatros. Nothing was too hard to accommodate and their whole team was a joy to work with.
